Last Sunday, someone said to me that she will not be coming to services as much because she missed Rev Paula. I felt pangs of angst and perhaps grief but I did not know what to say at the time. Later I remembered Rev Paula’s advice to us in her retirement announcement. She wrote that we should “lean in, not out.” While there may be a tendency to step away during this time of transition, she implored, “Please don’t! you are a valued part of our spiritual family. Unity Renaissance needs you!” This sentiment resonates deeply for me. Maintaining the sense of unity and spiritual connection that flows through this congregation will require faithfulness, presence, and commitment from all of us.
There are many opportunities to come together, grow spiritually, and build meaningful relationships.
- We have a full schedule of classes starting tonight with “Unlocking Your Spiritual Heart” led by Gail Boynton. This engaging interactive class will explore the connection between Spirit, the heart, and intuition for three sessions on Zoom. If you cannot make it tonight, you are welcome to attend later sessions.
- In February I will offer a class entitled, Be Opened: Building a Legacy of Love in a Divided World. Inspired by the metaphysical interpretation of scripture where Jesus healed a man who was deaf and mute, we will utilize spiritual practices and Unity principles to examine diversity within and across groups. There will be four interactive sessions on Zoom with access to guided meditations, journal writing, and a special presentation by a well-known coalition building expert. More details to come!
- Every Sunday at Unity Renaissance is a source of hope and assurance. Come early for meditation led by our Prayer Chaplains starting at 10:15. Stay after service for fellowship and food provided by our hospitality team. Additionally, a Board member will be available after every service to connect with you.
- Finally, active members are reminded to take part in the election on January 29th to fill two openings on the Board of Trustees. Your voice/vote matters.

Recovery Group Announcement
Please join Sam and Dawn as we continue to welcome a few more members to the “Support for Recovery” group… As you take your “personal inventory”, healing from past traumas/misunderstandings is available through loving group support. The Spiritual Joy of Unity is available to all people as we use key AA principles. Eliminating “powerless ” and “God as we know him” we use 10 steps. We strengthen our core membership, and allow group “drop-ins”.
Please reach out to Dawn Bennet at rdben865@gmail.com for more information and to RSVP. Feel free to leave a phone number and Dawn will call with more information.
