Make Every Day –
Earth Day!
|
|
Yes! Make every day Earth Day. Since 1970 we have celebrated Earth Day. Like many new ideas, it has taken time to build awareness for the need to protect our planet”. Today, you can be proud of Unity Renaissance’s efforts to support and protect Mother Earth. We implement many programs to improve our environment which leads to healthier individuals living in a healthier environment.
As we celebrate Earth Day this Saturday, April 22nd, you have an opportunity to evaluate your contribution to improving life for Mother Earth and its inhabitants. As progressive and practical Unity students we can make a difference through thoughtfulness, prayer, and action.
Easter represents a time for resurrecting and transforming our planet’s environment. May we set the intention of gratitude as we enjoy the beauty and blessings that Mother Earth bestows on us.
In love and light,
Rev. Richard Bunch

Expressive Arts Workshop with Lisa Cooper
11 a.m. Monday, April 24
The Expressive Arts Gatherings provide a safe and nurturing environment for friends to journal and create simple art activities surrounded by a theme which changes each month. These workshops are based on a multi-modality approach to knowing ourselves and Spirit more intimately. No art or writing experience is needed. We focus on the process rather than the product.
This month’s theme is Self-compassion. Through a full-sensory experience of sound, meditation, low-skill art immersion, movement, and writing, we will explore what it means to be compassionate towards ourselves and the world around us. Click on the link below for more information and registration.

May Diaper Drive: No Child Wet Behind!
May 1-29, 2023
In honor of Mother’s Day, Community Outreach is collecting diapers for those in need during the month of May. Food stamps do not cover diapers, most day care providers require disposable diapers, and the cost of laundry is expensive too. Some families are re-using diapers or leaving a child in wet diapers for longer than is healthy or sanitary. Please help if you can; even opened packages are accepted, and all sizes – especially sizes 4 to 6 – are needed. Adult diapers are also accepted. There will be a collection box in the Narthex from May 1st – 29th. Distribution is managed by the Greater Hampton Roads Diaper Bank.
