In May, Unity Renaissance hosted Linda Martella Whitsett’s class “Deepening Divine Audacity”, which encouraged participants to be audacious in claiming both the love of God and the power of God that reside within each of us. This past Sunday, Kathleen Barnett spoke to us about “The Power of Yes”. She quoted Marianne Williamson who said, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”
It’s often difficult to believe that we, with all of our human shortcomings, are lovable. It can also feel truly audacious to claim the power of God, the spark of divinity, that is within each of us. Yet, it is these acknowledgments that have drawn many of us to Unity.
What do we do when we embrace this knowledge? Norman Vincent Peale might have put the answer into the simplest possible terms when he said, “To be successful is to be helpful, caring, and constructive – to make everyone you touch a little bit better. The best thing you have to give is yourself.”
Here at Unity, we put these principles into practice, not only in our private lives but with one another. This unity of purpose has always held our community together and allows us to continue to shine and grow as we transition to the next great iteration of Unity Renaissance!

Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22 (voice of Tina Fey), who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. Expressive Arts Workshop
11 a.m. Monday, June 26
With the beauty of love comes the inevitability of loss: loss of a loved one, loss of health, loss of a job, loss of stability. Through simple art activities, writing, music, and meditation, we will explore the experience of loving someone or something intensely and how we can still hold sacred heart space during and after the occurrence of loss.
Using low-skill immersive art, writing, and visualization activities, we will explore who we really are and how we can safely express ourselves with healthy boundaries, communication, and self-compassion. $30 per person (all supplies provided).
