Rev. Richard Bunch,
Transitional Senior Minister
|
|
|
Hello everyone:
Unity of Renaissance is in the process of going through an “ending”. Many are emotionally experiencing the loss of a wonderful and loving minister, Rev. Paula Mekdeci. This certainly is to be expected. Sometimes, when a congregant finds themselves without a permanent minister, he/she wants to find a new, permanent Sr. Minster as quickly as possible. This is a normal and understanding reaction when the Spiritual Center is going through a transition.
However, time is on our side. We need the time to adjust and work through our feelings of disengagement, disenchantment, disorientation, and misidentification. This Sunday I will share my thoughts of what it is like to be in the Void, the second phase of being in transition. Ellen Debenport called it “ Hell in the Hallway.”
By the time the Search Committee prepares the promotional packet to advertise for a new minister and to vet all applicants, I know that you as a spiritually centered congregation will be ready for a new minister and another successful beginning for Unity Renaissance.
In love and light,
Richard

Expressive Arts Workshop
11 a.m. Monday, June 26
With the beauty of love comes the inevitability of loss: loss of a loved one, loss of health, loss of a job, loss of stability. Through simple art activities, writing, music, and meditation, we will explore the experience of loving someone or something intensely and how we can still hold sacred heart space during and after the occurrence of loss.
Using low-skill immersive art, writing, and visualization activities, we will explore who we really are and how we can safely express ourselves with healthy boundaries, communication, and self-compassion. $30 per person (all supplies provided).

Update from the Ministerial Search Team
June 7, 2023
Hello All,
In an effort to get a good cross-section of the congregation, we selected people of all ages, races, sexes, sexual orientations, etc. to be on the Team. As we move forward, we will be compiling the information to be included in our packet to be submitted to UWM; this will be what each potential ministerial candidate sees when they look at our church. We will use the information from the workshop questionnaire as well as the collective insight of our diverse team. Our goal is to attract the right minister at the right time for Unity Renaissance.
These are the members of your Ministerial Search Team:
Dr. Shafeeq Ameen, Congregational Co-Lead
Starr Janicki, Congregational Co-Lead
Deb Amme
Laura Davis
Bob Lambert
Humphrey Oronzo, Sr.
Lily Scott
Kathy Simpson
Valerie Winters, Board Co-Lead
Joleen Zackowski, Board Co-Lead
You can speak with one of the Co-Leads if you have any questions, concerns, or input for the Ministerial Search Team. OR you may email us at unityrentransition@gmail.com.
We will update you regularly on where we are in the process. Thank you all for holding the high watch as we begin the search for our next minister.
Blessings,
Ministerial Search Team
