The Power of Focused Ministry: Who and Why
|
|
On February 18, fourteen of us from Unity Renaissance (see photo below) traveled to Unity of Charlottesville to join many other Unity churches and their leaderships hear Unity Worldwide Ministries CEO Shad Groveland give a daylong workshop on the Power of a Focused Unity Ministry.
Speaking for myself, but it appeared to be a virtually universal reaction among us, the workshop was a distinct eye opener. Questions from Shad abounded: who is our target congregant? How shall we characterize ourselves, as a church or a spiritual life center? Where has Unity as a movement succeeded – and failed – at attracting those people who would be most apt to join and flourish in our community?
These and other questions will be addressed by our transitional minister, our board and church leaders. In fact Rev. Richard Bunch who is serving us in transition will conduct a workshop/seminar on the Power of Focused ministry sometime in April. Once the date is confirmed, we will announce it to the congregation.
The greatest benefit of attending this workshop is in the asking of the “who and why” of Unity Renaissance. Since we are in transition anyway, there could not be more perfect time to address those questions.
Stick with this Board and church Leadership as we engage the power of focused ministry— and let’s see the beauty of our destiny unfold.

Board President

Unity Renaissance Boutique Art Gallery presents:
“Celestial Images”
March-April 2023
|
|
Featured Artist: Don Malpass, Jr.
A longtime Star Trek and Star Wars fan, Don Malpass, Jr., began building model spaceships 30 years ago. His intricate models are in the collections of several Star Trek actors, including William Shatner, Nichelle Nichols, and Robert Picardo.
Don then ventured into reverse glass paintings, which have been shown in several Art Shows. The paintings are mixed media in multiple layers to achieve the depth of space and the 3D look of the planets. This technique results in beautiful images that change when viewed from different angles.
All paintings can be done with or without Starships. Commissioned paintings can also be requested in special colors.
