A couple of months ago, I attended a wonderfully inspiring minister’s retreat in Alabama with Rev. Edwene Gaines and about 40 New Thought/Unity ministers. Yesterday, Edwene shared this story:
“When I was first called to ministry, I prayed to God: ‘God, I am here for you. I’m your lady! I’ll do anything you want me to do. Just tell me what you want.’ I prayed and prayed and finally got a response: ‘Edwene, I am here for you. I am your God. I’ll do anything you want me to do. Just tell me what you want.”
God doesn’t lead our lives: We do! It is up to us to determine our aim, or purpose, in life. Once we set a clear intention, Spirit shows up in all sorts of amazing ways to help fulfill it.
