5 Great Books for Summer Reading

When I go on vacation (or on sabbatical, as I have these past two weeks), I love to read. Here are the books I delved into during my break, in case you’re looking for some good summer titles. Most of them have been around awhile, but they’re still wonderful reads:

Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramahansa Yogananda. One of the great spiritual classics and an amazing revelation of what is possible at the highest levels of consciousness.

The DaVinci Code, by Dan Brown. Believe it or not, I had never read this one! It is a great suspense novel, which I read with added interest having studied the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

Born a Crime, by Trevor Noah. This is a poignant, funny, and illuminating memoir of the author’s childhood in South Africa. It is best enjoyed in audiobook, read by Trevor Noah himself.

Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Lives Between Lives, by Michael Newton. Fascinating and inspiring exploration of the mystery of life in the spirit world after death on Earth.

Morning’s at Seven, by Eric Malpass. A light-hearted, entertaining, easy read about a British family as seen through the eyes of their seven-year-old son.

Let me know if you have favorite books to recommend as well. I’ll share them in a future e-newsletter.
