Annual Meeting

We have two members running for two positions on the Board of Trustees.  Elections will take place during the Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 28. The meeting will be in-person and via Zoom.

ED ROSEQUIST

Member since 1993.  Currently YOU Sponsor; Leader Mighty Men of Unity; Leader of Facilities Improvement Committee.  Served on the Board of Trustees from 2011-2016.

I am running because with a new minister coming, we need an action-focused Board of Trustees, my long history with Unity Renaissance will support the new minister in connecting with the congregation.  Being a great leader is someone who develops and communicates a strategy to the team.  I am a get-it-done type of person and sometimes I have to slow down and vet my thoughts across the team, which I am improving each day I work with the teams I am involved with. I desire to see our YFM program expand, our facility used by many groups and events.

My life partner helps give me perspective on my spiritual journey and allows me to gain a greater sense of self.  Unity has provided me a space to see and read ways to develop my spiritual self.  I helped plan and lead a trip to Unity Village which I hope to duplicate in the future.  I am retired Naval Aviator.

LISA PORTEN

Member since 2010; was also a member in the 1990s.  Currently on Hospitality Team and the Vegan Potluck Team.  Served as YFM teacher and greeter.

I am running to help acclimate the new minister and the congregation to each other.  My role as a mentor and supervisor for 30 years is a positive background for that.  A great leader is positive, kind and thoughtful communicator.  I am team player, who likes to lift others up. I believe in being honest with my words even for crucial conversations.  I want to see us attract more young people and young families.  I would also like to see increased classes and increased participation in community events.

My entire life, I have felt moved by spirit.  As a child, I would beg my parents to take me to church or go with my friends or even by myself.  My grandmother taught me that belief and God allow for all things to be possible.  I am currently Director, Contracts in my job, which I think will enhance my service.
