Celebration of Life Service for George Rice

Butch (George), born on July 1, 1958, was the first child of George, Sr. (who predeceased him 7/3/15) and Carolyn Rice. Growing up with a sister, Nancy and brother, Jonathan (who passed away 11/19/21), he was quite the adventurer and always willing to lead in the family shenanigans. He once captured a snake he thought had pretty markings and brought it home to show his dad. On his way, he showed it to a neighbor who asked, “Why are you carrying around a copperhead?” He put it into covered bucket and checking on it later, he found the snake had escaped. After that, we all watched where we stepped when we ventured outside…that was his adventurous side. This same adventurous spirit served him well as an entrepreneur. Over the years he started several businesses. Most recently he was known as “Mr Sparkle” – ‘Elite Window Cleaner and Pressure Pro’. His attention to detail and heart to serve resulted in his excelling in this business.
He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Sanders (Ben) and Victoria Rice; two grandsons, Cason and Everette Naylor; his mother, Carolyn Rice; his sister, Nancy Dickerson (Jay); his special friend Karen Shepard; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will honor him on Sunday, December 5th at the Unity Renaissance Church, 1120 Eden Way N, Chesapeake, VA 23320. His family look forward to seeing those of you who can attend.
