Workshop: “The Gospel of the Beloved Companion” with Jehanne de Quillan
March 19, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
This exciting two-day seminar is taught by Jehanne de Quillan, author and translator of The Gospel of the Beloved Companion: The Complete Gospel of Mary Magdalene. This is the first English translation of a previously unpublished first-century gospel of the same name. Originally written in Alexandrian Greek, and brought from Egypt to the Languedoc during the early to middle part of the first century, this exceptional manuscript has been preserved within the author’s spiritual community since that period. In this extraordinary book, the Gospel of the Beloved Companion comes alive to bring us a luminously poetic yet starkly objective insight into, and perhaps a new perspective on, the teachings and philosophy of one of the greatest spiritual teachers the world has ever known.
Cost to attend: $100 per person

ABOUT THIS SEMINAR
If one searches the dictionary for a definition of spiritual enlightenment one will usually find the following or a very similar variation thereof: “A state attained when the cycle of reincarnation ends and desire and suffering are transcended, or the achievement of this state.”
For most people, this is as far as their understanding or experience of Enlightenment goes. For over two millennia church and religious leaders have emphasized the “exclusivity” of this state, making it the province of those saints, holy men, and mystics who populate the history of most religions. The effect of this stance in practical terms has been to remove the achievement of this blissful state from the reach of the ordinary person. What if all of this was and is wrong? What if Enlightenment is supposed to be achieved in one life? What if Enlightenment were not the end but rather the beginning, the next stage in human evolution? That to achieve it is our sole purpose; our true “soul” purpose? “Strange and complicated ideas” one might say, but not really considering these concepts are over two thousand years old, and at the heart of the teaching of two of the most extraordinary spiritual teachers the world has ever known.
This seminar explores the truth of the woman known as Miryam, once called the Migdalah. What was her relationship with the Jewish mystic known as Yeshua, and her role in his life and teaching? Simply a follower, or alternately an enlightened wisdom teacher in her own right? Join us as we explore these questions and the reality behind their teachings. Take a practical journey into the experience that is at the core of Enlightenment: the achievement of the peace that defies all understanding.
