About Maggie Kerrigan:
“Award-winning artist, Maggie Kerrigan, seeks to draw connections between the human spirit and her subject matter. Her experimental nature is evident in the broad range of artwork she produces. Her primary focus is on reviving discarded books into altered book art. She carves, folds and sculpts books into unique new works of art. She also enjoys painting with water media, including watercolor, acrylic and ink.
“Though I began with paint, I have finally found my artistic voice in creating altered books. I love to work with the paper. The range of creative opportunities is exciting as well. It’s invigorating to problem-solve and engineer the transformation of a book into sculpture.”
Maggie has authored two books. The (almost) Blank Journal is a semi-blank writer’s journal with prompts to encourage creativity and personal reflection. The Gratitude Project is an in-depth journaling experience focused on your own life history. “
