(Approved elective) In 2010, a watershed book was published that shares the story of Jesus and his teachings as told by someone who not only witnessed his ministry, but was an integral part of it. That book, “The Gospel of the Beloved Companion: The Complete Gospel of Mary Magdalene,” translated and published by Jehanne deQuillan, shares the original, unredacted and complete gospel of Myriam the Migdalah, who is said to have written it five years after Yeshua’s (Jesus’) death. Join us as we explore this stunningly beautiful gospel in depth, delving into the life, teachings, and consciousness of Yeshua as well as his beloved companion whom we know as Mary Magdalene.This class will also be offered online.
About the Instructor
Rev. Paula Mekdeci is the senior minister at Unity Renaissance, where her vibrant energy and vision have had powerful impact. She has greatly expanded community outreach, helped increase Sunday service attendance, and developed a dynamic leadership team including paid and volunteer staff members. She has increasingly focused on developing a spiritual education program to meet the interests and needs of a diverse congregation. Paula has a Masters of Divinity from Unity Institute and Seminary. From 2007-2013, she served as Vice President of Communications and Publishing at Unity World Headquarters, overseeing Daily Word, Unity Magazine, Unity Books, Unity Online Radio and Unity marketing and communications.
