UR Boutique Art Gallery presents “Retirement is Great” featuring artist Faye Pledger – November 1 – December 31

My name is Marilyn Faye Pledger. I’ve been painting since I retired from Chesapeake Public Schools. I currently teach 3 art classes a week @ Educational Coaches on Cedar Road and private lessons as well.

I’ve shown art all over the Tidewater area, and been recognized numerous times – including a 1st place at the Botanical Gardens Show, Dec, 2016.

Born and raised in Norfolk, I’ve lived in Chesapeake for almost 40 years. I graduated from Maury High, Tidewater Community College & Virginia Wesleyan.

Life in retirement is wonderful. My husband & I live within 3 miles of both of our children and five precious grandchildren. I arise each morning by choice to enjoy morning coffee and reading. I spend time with family & friends, enjoy quilting, making jewelry, and paint at least 30 minutes a day to maintain an optimum “brain-to-hand” habit. I find it therapeutic for my days and the perfect prelude to a good night’s sleep.”
