Homophobia and the Bible: A Dangerous Combination with Rev. Harry B. Stock
June 26, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
For far too long, some teachings about the Bible have diminished individuals of the LBGTQ+ community. And, because of such teachings, some LBGTQ+ people have come to believe that they are not loved by God. This amazing talk will look at the myths and truths of these ancient scrolls. This service is geared toward members, friends, and allies of the LBGTQ+ community. We will look at the scrolls through the influences of ancient Middle Eastern, Hebrew, Greek and Roman traditions, as well as some early Christian traditions. We will hear true translations of the following scripture passages:
- Deuteronomy 23:17-18
- Genesis 18, 19 Sodom story
- Leviticus “The Holiness Codes”
- 1st Corinthians 6:9-10
- Romans 1:21, 26-27
